R Dale Newberry CPA
Dale Newberry received his CPA certificate in January, 1971 after a few years in the Navy and a year with a Houston CPA office. He joined Bob Wilton with this tax and auditing firm later that year. Dale practices in both tax and auditing and is the senior partner. He was reared in Floydada but has lived in Lamesa since 1972.
Dale has served in a number of community leadership roles including:
- Former president of the Chamber of Commerce
- Former president of the Rotary Club
- Former president of the Lions Club
- County chair of the Dawson County GOP for 25 years
Dale has also been awarded a lifetime membership in the Texas Society of CPAs.
He is married to Pat who was a counselor at Lamesa Independent School District for many years. They have two children, Robert and Sarah and three grandchildren.
Dale’s outside passion is fly fishing and in recent years he has reduced his office hours in the summer.
Scott L Leonard CPA
Scott L Leonard is a native Lamesan, having graduated as Valedictorian from Lamesa High School in 1981. Scott became a Red Raider and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 1984. After a two-year stint with a “Big Eight” accounting firm, Scott returned to Lamesa to join the federal tax firm. Scott’s practice is primarily taxation, including estate and gift and business planning. He also serves as the firm’s technology partner and is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor. Scott has chosen to serve many charitable and civic groups throughout his career. He currently serves as:
- President of Lamesa Economic Development Corporation
- President of Lamesa Boys & Girls Club Inc
- President of Northridge Retirement Center
- Secretary-Treasurer for Lamesa Kiwanis Club
- Chairman of the Boys & Girls Club Lake revitalization committee
Scott was fortunate to marry Stacy Swearingen in 1984. Scott and Stacy have three children, Meghan, Taylor and Caitlin.
The fly-fishing bug hit Scott in the early ‘90s and he enjoys fishing small streams in Colorado and loves to camp with family and friends.
Kim Bairrington CPA
Kim Bairrington was raised in Bovina, Texas, graduated from Bovina High School and received a degree in accounting from Texas Tech University. Kim, a certified public accountant, began her accounting career in Lubbock, joining our firm in 1988. Kim practices in both the income tax and auditing areas of accounting.
Kim has been active in various youth and community organization through the years. Most recently, Kim serves on the Lamesa Chamber of Commerce, where she is currently the Chair Elect.
Kim is married to Rick Bairrington, who is currently self-employed as an independent insurance adjuster. They have three daughters, Crystal, Shanna and Kayla.
During Kim’s time off, she enjoys time with her family, especially her four grandsons.
